The campaign for a new railway station serving Somerton and Langport received a boost this week when campaigners met local councillors and members of the public at the White Hart in Somerton.
The meeting gave people the chance to hear more about the campaign, ask questions and find out how they could help make the case for better rail connections for the area.
Those attending were keen to understand what a new station could mean for local communities and how residents can get involved as the campaign develops.
A campaign spokesperson said: “It was encouraging to meet people who want to know more and be part of the conversation. A new station could help connect Somerton, Langport and surrounding communities with jobs, education and services. Local support will be important as we build the case.”
The campaign group is inviting residents, community organisations and local representatives to take part and help shape its work. Anyone interested in getting involved can contact the campaign group for more information.
